We didn't stay in Carcross, but this village is part of the historic gold rush and building the Alaskan Highway. It is on the rail line from Skagway to Whitehorse. The Goldrushers would pause here on there trek to the Dawson gold fields via Whitehorse. At Whitehorse the rushers would go upstream on the Yukon river to Dawson. Carcross was expanded when the railroad came in and would be used as a supply station for building the Alaska Highway.
