The goal for Trek 2011 is to "go WEST;" however, we made a few stops before the RV turned to that direction. First stop was a rally in Conroe with our Renegade RV Club; Second, a brief stop in Dallas, to visit with relatives and old friends; Third, another rally in Branson (Missouri) with our Lonestar RV Club; and finally, Arkadelphia (Arkansas) for some fun with grandbabies.

In Oklahoma City we went to the Memorial dedicated after the Federal Building bombing. The Memorial is a definite DO NOT MISS.

In Amarillo we spent a day hiking in Palo Duro Canyon (the 2nd largest canyon in the US). The following evening we had dinner and attended the play "Texas" in the outdoor theater with the canyon as the backdrop.

In Albuquerque we had a problem with the awning that covers one of the large slides. It billowed like a sail and we could not bring in the slide. Albuquerque has unbelievable winds and we listened to the flap all night. Fortunately the repair was quick and not crippling to the bank account. We visited Old Town, where I found a bead store; hiked in Petroglyph National Monument; road the longest tram in the world, and visited a local winery and a casino.
